(Site) Specificity II, 2016
2 video projectors, stool, first performed at SOMA Mexico City, Mexico
The (Site) Specificity is a series of lecture on the notion of site specificity as it is being challenged by our global transnational era and the increase of digital technology.
During my residency at SOMA in Mexico City, I performed (Site) Specificity II, a double projection performance in the studio. I presented images of vernacular architecture from 70s to contemporary glass and steel doors, street signs and skyscrapers. They are sorted into different ways of marking the territory, the territory of Mexico in opposition and in conjunction to the neighboring US. |
